One fine day, I was looking out for some Executive / Correspondance MBA...
Came over this site http://www.hnge.in/
Over this site it had information on various class room courses conducted by Professors of IIMC in Bangalore, ending with a certification from IIM Calcutta.
I had thought of starting of some coaching Institute many a times. But what will be the attraction for the students to join was a major concern.
Then struck this... how about an institute where we have the best of the best teachers from anywhere in the world sharing their knowledge and teaching behind the camera.
It is a easily scalable business too.
Problems :
1. I wont prefer a teacher behind a camera. will you?
2. Class can be very boring.
Solution : Classroom coordinator has to be very good and experienced.
etc. etc.
Please add solutions to these problem...

getting such high end lecturers to come and speak would be very cost intensive. How do we manage the capital to do that. besides gauging the appeal that it will have for people is also something we need to think about
ReplyDeleteVery true... Firstly, high end lectures is one of the implementations, it can be a simple coaching institute teaching German and French or IITJEE or CAT... We can debate on the target student...
ReplyDeleteWe need to have a very nice classroom coordinator who is a teacher himself and is answerable to all the classroom queries, again an investment there..
iits already have such recordings of various topics being taught in class room with the audio running in the background and the video is just a representation of what the lecturere writes on the board...not a real life video....that eliminates any video shooting costs. we can provide as correspondence and both classrooom programme
ReplyDeletecorrespondence is a nice point
ReplyDeletedunno wht to say... I'm not a fan of correspondence courses myself...but going as per the argument..We'l have to do a market study and find a target population sizable enough to generate profit.
ReplyDeleteLet it not just be virtual classroom but let it be just classroom. Because what matters is impressive learning out of it and not just Business. I like this concept, because it can be worked only on weekends.
ReplyDeleteCan we discuss the target student. Maybe that should be the first thing to decide.
Various Options :
1. Student of age group 12-16 ( Std 5 to 8 ). The main problem of the Education system in India is that nobody knows what they are good at. Everyone is following the trend. Engineering followed by MBA...
If we design a mechanism by which a child can find his skills where he is good at and what interests him. Bangalore has a lot of potential customers for such kind of a training. This might not need virtual classroom concept, and development of a curriculum will be the major part. To rename this point.. early educational counseling and goal setting
2. Traditional coaching of all the subjects of the course of the school. We have a lot of competition in this area.
3. IIT-JEE. Potential but nobody recognizes IITs in Bangalore.
4.
PLEASE add your thoughts....
